Getting to grips with new curriculum
Helen Woods is a principal examiner in history. She initially took on the role to develop her management and mentoring skills, which she finds useful in her school role as head of department. Now that the system for GCSEs and A levels is changing, students will be sitting a mix of papers from 2008. Helen wants to ensure a consistent approach and to make sure her examination team colleagues and the teachers at her school understand how the changes will affect them.
